JT’s Seafood Shack Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Good local place to grab a meal and a drink after a day on the beach. The food isn't super special (basic fried/grilled seafood) but it is well prepared and served in generous portions. Mixed drinks were also generous and very refreshing after a day in the sun. The servers were professional and very friendly. Prices are somewhat higher than you might expect but seafood is rarely cheap. :-) All in all a really fun place to eat.

Love this, love this. Food was exceptional, atmosphere was great, particularly for those w/ small children because it is a little noisier. We take out of town friends here because it is consistently good. I usually have the combo platter but I had a jerk- shrimp wrap the last time I visited. Everything I have tried has been yummy. I agree w/ a previous post that the sweet habanero sauce rocks.

My husband and I had lunch here. Love the fun and cozy atmosphere. The service was fast and friendly. He had fish which he said was very well prepared and tasty. I appreciated that JT's offered vegetarian fare for me. I had a very flavorful black bean soup with a delicious fresh salad. We'll definitely be back.

The atmosphere is like they say - more shack like, nothing fancy. Perfect for us after a long day on the motorcycles. The people were super friendly and we all enjoyed our food. I really enjoyed the shrimp pot - yumo! Gator tail was a hit with everyone (just not my thing).

On the grounds of the former Peg's, a must-stop biker bar for those attending Daytona's Bike Week (this according to the waitress) is this surprisingly good seafood restaurant. The renovation is beach shack with modern upgrades (the restrooms, for example, had motion activated soap and towel dispensers). It's a neat looking place. The menu has many attractive looking options. I had the Seafood Bouillabasse. It contained a mix of clams, mussels, white fish, shrimp, calamari and shittake mushrooms in a thin buttery broth. The broth had a slightly sweet taste with a hint of hot pepper. Admittedly, I don't like either clams or mussels enough to order either on their own, but these were very good (read: not chewy). My wife had a spinach/cheese pasta dish that harkened back to a NE Ohio Italian restaurant item. The waitress and service were good, with the seating selection a bit tricky with my seat basically landing in the main path. I shifted to another seat at the table and all was good. The waitress was friendly, sharing the history of the place and encouraging us to return for the live music the next night. In the end, the final star was withheld on the basics. We had to order waters, they came with no lemon and we were not offered more drinks (draft Yuengling). Also, my dish begged for bread, but none was to be found. Take the trip up from Daytona, or down from St Augustine and give this place a shot.

really good casual restaurant, there's only a few options in palm coast, and this is certainly one of the best, definitely worth it, great beer garden and great fish tacos

another nice dinner here a couple of days ago. we got there early and had the early bird special. lots of great food and brew.

wow, will never go there again...nothing else around has to be why this place stays open. Our server didn't want to be there and the food was less than fair...pricey for what you got. Head further south to Flagler and take your pick of places...you will have made a better choice.

Arrived by chance for 6 pm reduced price menu, half priced draft beer and several entrees. Black bean soup exceptional. Certainly not haute causine but worth the price. They should promote it across the "bridge" (a toll bridge close at hand to Palm Coast, it is worth the $2 toll and ten minute drive)

We were a party of 6, from age 13 to 83 and everyone was happy here. We did come early, around 5:30-6 on a Monday night, so there wasn't much competition for a table, though many tables were already seated. We sat outside on the covered back porch. Our waiter was great, friendly, helpful and informative. He knew how to address the needs of all age ranges, and we never felt neglected - water, lemon, condiments, whatever. We had a mix of crab cakes, fried shrimp and fried clams. All were hot and delicious and the prices were great. Would definitely go back here!

My family has been coming to Palm Coast for about 8 years and we've have been to JT's many times over the years. My review of JT's has to be separated into 2 categories - the physical restaurant and the actual food. For the physical restaurant, I'd give them 4-5 stars. It's a cool, roadside style place with a great atmosphere. It's a very inviting place to step into and eat. It sits tucked back off the road, with spanish moss hanging overhead and a band setup in the back. So from that standpoint, I really like JT's. As for the food, it's just 'OK'. I think they've changed owners a couple of years back, and since then the food has gone downhill in my opinion. However, the prices have shot way up. It use to be a great roadside seafood restaurant with prices that matched. Now, their entrees are $20+ and it just doesn't match the food quality that is being served. Again, in my opinion. But we still go to JT's because we've been going there for years, I like the setting and it's very close to the where we stay in the Palm Coast area.

Fried calm strips overcooked, mahi fish overcooked, and Burger was beef parts. Service could have been better. Safe place to eat but nothing like the other reviews. It was bar food prepared by someone who went to 2 weeks of cooking school and learned to create sweet sauces.

Funky, clean seafood "shack" with a homestyle atmosphere. When we got there for dinner, the inside was packed (it's not a huge place), so we sat in the covered patio - very comfortable and actually better than the inside. The menu has a nice selection of choices - steamed, fried, or grilled. We started with the BBQ ribs as an appetizer - delicious, tender, fall off the bone. My wife had the snow crabs - a huge portion that she couldn't finish. They were very tasty; although it's a lot of work to eat them. My son had the fish of the day (Tilapia) grilled plain with baked sweet potato - which he polished off quickly! (The menu had tuna, mahi, salmon, and wahoo). I had the steam pot, which was basically a Combo Plate - spicy steamed crab, mussels, clams and shrimp - along with corn potatoes and sausage. Overall it was above average, although it didn't come out as hot (temp) as I normally like. The shrimp were super tender, and I loved the clams and crab. Overall, for a down home seafood experience, you won't be disappointed.

When we asked around for a rustic seafood place in the area, we were told to go to JT's. It was just what we were looking for. We were seated on teh screened back proch. The only complaint was the live music out back was way too loud. The service was excellent. We got a big bucket of steamed oysters for the whole table, which were tasty. I got a steamer pot wtih shrimp, clams, mussles, corn. potates and sausage. It was seasoned perfectly. The only part I didn't love were the mussles. They had lots of dinner specials. One was wahoo over cheese grits, which I sampled. It was great. My husband loved the crabcakes. He didn't care too much for the fried fish. I was supposed to be Tilapia, but had that catfish dirt taste to it. We'll go back when we are in the area.

  • Todd S.

Quite tasty and definitely local. We had the little neck clams and a shrimp pot. All were perfectly prepared and fresh or seemingly so. It's a vibrant place--not quiet but certainly a place to take friends. Make sure to swing by on your way to or from the beach.

Florida, palm coast specifically, is my second home. I've been coming to JT's for YEARS...not much has changed...and that's a good thing! Great place for a casual dinner and drinks. Beachy, dive bar atmosphere with a lot of personality. Food is always good, as I said, I've been coming here for years and don't have one bad experience to report. Being in florida you'd expect the best and freshest seafood - JT's always delivers. Great go-to for a cold drink, great seafood, and southern hospitality.

Came here on out first night of vacation with the whole family. Upon our arrival I could here live music playing. The band was ok and played mostly 70's stuff which was ok with me. I ordered the fried alligator tail for an appetizer. It was awesome not sure what all is in the sauce but it complimented the gator tail nicely. For my main I ordered the fried scallops which came with hush puppies, coleslaw and fries. All together it was a great dining experience and I would recommend this place for everybody. Not one complaint from anyone in the family. I read that they have half price beer from 3-6 everyday. Gonna have to come by again before we leave.

Definitely fresh seafood. Casual atmosphere. Kitchen adds their special touch to the plates. I loved the Asian tuna salad.

  • Robert R.

Local atmosphere, simple and casual with great fresh seafood! Showed up here one night on the weekend when my son was getting married at the Hammock Ocean Resort, they took in nearly 40 of us in the back room, not a single complaint! Food and beverages were awesome, and amazingly, it all came out pretty quickly for the size party we showed up with! Great people, and fantastic food.......one of my favorites!

  • Shelly S.

Nice place for a casual family dinner! There's also a bar and places to sit outside, where there's another bar and they play live music, amongst the spanish moss covered oak trees. My party had a variety of food. We started with the calamari which was fresh! And everyone loved it! We also ordered the shrimp and grits. Which was great. The soft shell crab was nice and crisp. We ordered the fish tacos and seafood pots which included fried shrimp & clam strips. Everyone was satisfied. They have a variety of drinks. And the menu has a range I prices. Of course you will pay extra for the seafood but it is fresh. I wouldn't hesitate to stop by again.

  • Lindsey W.

I came here for dinner with my family and had an okay experience. The waitstaff is very friendly, nice and they follow up when appropriate. The food is just okay bar food, I was hoping for a little higher quality. I had the crab, mussels and shrimp boil and here are my thoughts...the crab was delicious, perfectly cooked and great seasonings. The mussels and shrimp were overcooked, tough and not very tasty. The sausage and potatoes were great with the seasonings but the corn was old and overcooked. My other chief complaint is that they didn't serve this food with real drawn butter...not cool. It was fake butter like you'd put on your popcorn at the movies...ick!

  • Jennifer W.

I'm so glad we stopped here! I had the blackened fish wrap with cheddar wrap and fries. It was AMAZING!! The fries are crispy, which I prefer. I liked them with their three pepper sauce. I would DEFINITELY recommend it. My husband's shrimp was average. My daughter said her tuna sandwich was the best she's ever had. :) We all shared fried banana cheesecake. OMG.

Came here for a second time two days later. I needed that fish wrap again. Still very good. Will be a staple each time I'm in town!

Great little place. Rustic but 5 star food. Great happy hour 3-6. Half price beers and house wine. I has the shrimp and grits - OMG. So good! Don't miss this place!

  • Tanner B.

The key lime pie is beyond amazing, and I had the JT's burger. It was a great palate pleaser. Also the hot sauce was so good that we bought a bottle to take home. This place has my stamp of apruval!

I'm giving this place 5 stars for a reason, a few actually so read on. First I wasn't too excited to eat here based on their 3.5 stars, that's just eh for me. But, we were hungry and in the area and didn't have lots of time to go anywhere else so we came here. It had just started to rain so also another reason to find a place quick. We ordered the Blackened fish sandwich (tilapia), it was great! tasted very fresh, bun was nice and soft, tartar sauce was great, served with L,T,O. Now I know you may be thinking how hard can it be to a get a decent fish sandwich? Well, I'll tell you, it's not always that easy. I've gone to places like Duffy's and even Flannigans and so many times the fish just tastes a bit dried out, or the bread isn't fresh, or toasted, or cold, or the lettuce is browning, really I have fish sandwiches alot, I know this was a good one. Calamari as an appetizer (loved it paired with their special sauce which is on the table) it's spicy yet sweet 3 pepper sauce, we actually bought a bottle to take home. Fish Ruben: marble rye bread lightly grilled, not dripping in buttery grease like a lot of other places, blackened tilapia, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, Dee-lish-ous! Oh did I mention our food was HOT! You could tell it didn't sit in the window for a long time, gotta love it. Then for dessert we had the fried banana cheesecake. Omg- this was better than I expected! I want it now actually, days later, still thinking bout it. Imagine a banana cheesecake, lightly battered and fried, topped with a delicious gooey caramel sauce and a bit of whipped cream. The batter gets crunchy when fried so I loved the textures of crunchy vs soft inside and well, it's not something you can get just anywhere. The ambiance is pretty casual, it was kinda quiet when we went, maybe bout 4pm or so. Our server, can't recall his name but he was great. He knew the answers to our questions, checked on us in a timely manner, and always seemed to be around whenever we needed anything. He was great! Overall had a lovely time with attentive friendly service and good food. This place needs more stars. Will be back when visiting the area. Get the calamari, fish sandwiches & the banana cheesecake fried dessert!

I go mostly with my father in law, wife and kids and have eaten everything on the Early Bird menu. Crazy but the Philly Cheese-steak is my favorite (and I am from PA) After a few visits the staff knows you are. They are always professional but with a personal touch. This place is good clean fun and right down the road from my house,... So I'll be back often. (Amended from original post, should have made it 5 stars)

Great food, very casual atmosphere, came for lunch had a grilled fish sandwich and two beers, all very good and price reasonable. I will come again.

Worth the wait! When you go on vacation you should be able to eat somewhere better than the same old places back home, this is that place! The key lime pie here will renew your faith in humanity!

  • W O.

Really? We each had their signature item tonight. The seafood bouillabaisse, and wow were we disappointed! We were here last time through, about 3 years ago and were really looking forward to revisiting the place. Two things really stuck out. 1) The prices were higher 2) The quality was lower. Sorry, but we won't return....

    (2)
  • Ron A.

Nice seafood place always good food and service. Always busy and we know that is a good sign. Drinks are very cold. Service has been good every time. We will be back for more. This is a locals place as well as visitors. Good deal.

Great atmosphere, service, and of course the food was fantastic. We had the shrimp and grilled grouper. To bad we are heading home tomorrow or I would go back. Maybe next year when we come back

  • Diane L.

There were seven of us -3 children-and we all had a great meal. Seafood was excellent and the green beans (and I am not crazy about green beans) were excellent. I would have given this a five star but we had a surly server. What a shame to have a great meal but have all of the adults notice her disinterest.

Awesome food and service! I got one of the specials and it was amazing! Local place with delicious food!

I love Jt's. My family and I go there all the time. The specials are fantastic. Always fresh fish. Mahi, Tilefish, Grouper, Tuna. My mother has the shrimp and Grits. Delicious. Every time we go to Jt's we are never dissapointed. The staff - very friendly. We recommend this restaurant to everyone.

  • Justin D.

The food here is good with a casual and friendly atmosphere. The prices are fair for the sandwiches but are a little over the top for some of the specialty items. I ordered the fried soft shell crab sandwich. I didn't taste the crab and felt like I was eating something that was randomly fried. The bread was much thicker than the crab itself too. I wished I got the regular crab sandwich, which uses just the crab meat rather than a whole crab. I think I just ordered the wrong thing for me, otherwise the food is good. Nonetheless the fries are excellent!

  • Ray M.

One is to much for this dump!!! We came in and ordered the clam chowder ? Was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted! It smelled like rotten fish!! Mc friend ordered shrimp and received straight out of the box frozen pre breaded shrimp? Disgusting also! I the changed to a prime rib sandwich which also was straight out of the freezer! Would not recommend to no one stay away from this place. We were also charged for all the disgusting dishes!!!!!! Really!! Had to be the wort food we have ever eaten at any restaurant!!! Will never got back!

The short version: Service: 5+ Stars. Melissa was friendly, efficient and very patient! Would definitely come back just for her Food: 3.5 Stars Moderately expensive: $120 (not including tip) for 4 people The longer version (for those that like the details): We drove down from Atlanta and on our first night wanted to grab something close to the condo we rented for the week. The condo owner recommended JTs and yelp reviews were decent so we gave it a shot. Parking is limited but we had no issues on a Tuesday late afternoon (we arrived about an hour before trivia started). Super casual atmosphere with lots of locals. No wait for a table and drinks served quickly. We were traveling with family from out of the country (who speak very little English) and Melissa was so patient and friendly as we translated the menu to help them decide. We ordered 3 beers, 1 vodka tonic, 1.5 lbs of crab legs as an appetizer, two fried fish meals (one grouper and one tilapia), one fish taco plate, and one shrimp steamer. The food delivery was perfectly timed and the food was hot and very good. They even brought out extra tortillas when we asked for more. For dessert we order one piece of key lime pie to share. This was the only disappointing part of the meal. It tasted like it was stored in the refrigerator with savory food - I would have like for it to be a bit more tart with less whipped topping. We would definitely recommend and would go back.

Fun place got to watch the superbowl here. There was more people here for Tuesday trivia night then there was for the superbowl which was hilarious. If your looking to play trivia get there early

  • Ali H.

Overall a good place. The good: Great atmosphere Cheap beer and wine at happy hour Nice selection The hot sauce on the table is amazing Good selection The Bad: The smell as you walk in is overwhelming, fishy and not in a good way. Some of the fried food seemed lacking in quality however the crabcakes, hot dog, and desserts were amazing. I would come back if in the area but would not seek it out.

  • Don G.

Good daily specials. Usually quick service. Live music on weekends. Great seafood. Be prepared for a wait if you come on a weekend in the summer. Kids love it - loud and lively. I had the special - Black Grouper Au Gratin. Delicious. Crab legs are always a good appetizer.

  • Franklin H.

Corn nuggets rocked...however...farm raised Atlantic Salmon and shirmp from Indonesia killed my seafood desires...oh ya...Talipia too...sure hope the peanut butter pie comes through. Quality foods should be considered before profits...Serve it and they will come.

This surprise restaurant is well known to locals so it crowds up quickly. Very good seafood, great burgers plus excellent entrees. With a large bar area and tons of beer choices and drinks to accompany a better than good meal. No fancy dressing up plus there is an outdoor waiting area behind the restaurant for music etc. have fun here

Ok back one year later Monday margaritas $ 5 fantastic! Having shrimp tacos for lunch- Had to send them back- shells stale. They came back with a soft shell- fair- have had better. This place has gone way downhill in the last few years Tall blonde bartender is snotty and has been to many of us for last few years... My men wont watch football at the bar anymore because of the poor service.

    (3)
  • JAmie M.

Awesome place. We stopped in for lunch on our way home from the beach. Had the fish wrap and fish tacos, both upgraded to blackened grouper. Totally worth it. Build yourself tacos with plenty of fish to work with - a must try if you're a fish tacos fan. We will definitely be back for dinner next time we are in town.

Great food, cold beer and friendly service. This is my third time over a three year span, always the same experience.

  • Dave W.

This is a great place for some simply good food. I had the oyster sandwich that was on a fresh roll, plenty of oysters, fresh tomato, lettuce, red onion, and mayo.. Fries done crispy. Yum My wife had the fish sandwich with a side of rice and beans. She had her first bite and looked at me and said " this is really good". She finished the whole sandwich which never happens. Local place with TV and loud conversation which adds to the local charm. Go, relax and have fun.

  • M Q.

We came out for lunch since our hotel's food was too pricey for us. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Husband loved his buffalo shrimp tacos and my son loved his Philly cheese steak sandwich. I had the summer salmon salad. It was really good with the freshest lettuce I've had in a salad. Very tasty! Would go back if we lived closer!

    (4)
  • Kim W.

Maybe they were having a bad night when I went. The service was AWFUL (even for Florida). Long wait to order, long wait for food, longest wait for the check! The food was good. A toss-up. Go if you're patient and in no hurry.

    (3)
  • Patty H.

Heard alot about this place. Was mildly disappointed. Chicken wings and fried gator were WAY under cooked. Do yourself a favor and pass on those. Chicken Philly was really good....shrimp was delish also. Regular Philly was just ok. We got a bottle of their signature hot sauce and loved it! I probably wouldn't go back but I think it's worth a try at least. Oh....and PLEASE UPDATE YOUR ONLINE MENU! Much different than the paper one we picked up! Had no idea of all you had!

  • C T.

Great time, great food, great drinks. The restaurant is somewhat small though and we had to wait 1 hour and 10 mins to sit. I called ahead of time and it was a 25 min wait but 20 mins later when we got there it was longer than an hour. Happy we waited. Have a "pineapple kiss" for a cocktail and some crab legs!

This place should be called JT's Inadequate Parking Shack. We wasted a drive up A1A to discover no place to park on a Thursday evening. Hostess who answered the phone was not helpful, so we turned around and went back to Flagler Beach for dinner. Yeah, this is a petty review, but JT's poor planning and layout caused a wasted trip and several expletives to be spoken. We just wanted to give you a lot of our filthy tourist money in exchange for fried sea creatures and tropical drinks. Is a place to park too much to ask? PS..If you know your parking lot sucks (which it does), then put up some signs or train your staff to tell people where to go.

    (1)
  • Amey M.

My kitchen will be CLOSED every Thanksgiving....thanks to JT's Seafood Shack! Where else can you get Chef Randall's tender, slow cooked turkey and roast beef, fresh green bean casserole, stuffing, yams, pie ...all served with Emily's smile and attention? We arrived during HAPPY HOUR and sipped our wines while watching turkey day games. Service was fast as we made our way through the delish dinner and dessert. More than ample portions will feed us for many lunches. We will be back but will make sure we have Emily...she's the best! JT's....it's not just for fresh seafood!

    (5)
  • Go G.

It was OK. We sat at the high tops and the bartender takes your order- that may be ok if you drink but if you just want lunch I think the waitresses would be nicer. Out bartender had NO personality. Didn't even ask us anything about our meal and of course said thank you when he dropped off the bill. Food was ok- tilapia is not what I consider a good fish but it is what they had as the fish sandwich. I had a crab chowder- it had good flavor but was extremely thick. Nothing too exciting here. I'll go back to try it again though.

We have been at JT several times in the past few weeks. I don't understand the bad reviews. The waiters and waitresses are very helpful, quality of food good.this is not fine dining but solid and reliable. A local place, try it

Just left JTs Seafood Shack.....the place was packed but we snagged two seats at the bar. We ordered one Oregon wine and the drink soecial which were expertly prepared and served by our earnest and professional bar tender, Erin. She is amazing. Our dinners were great. We each ordered a fish special.....flounder and poached salmon and substituted the veggie of the day for rice without a problem.Delicious and fresh. We are in Palm Coast for a bit and will return.

Went on a whim looking for good seafood at a reasonable price, and found it. Place was packed which is always a good sign. But we got a table without waiting. Had a couple of frozen margaritas while waitng for our dinner, and they were excellent. Seafood was good and well prepared. Wait staff was attentive even though they were very busy. Can see why this is a popular spot with locals.

Great local Florida seafood. If your looking for something fancy this isn't your place. Be sure to try their chef specials (flounder, mahi, grouper and shrimp) and you won't be disappointed.

The Name of the place says it all. Shack! But what a wonderful shack. It has the friendliness you would expect from a small town restaurant. Good menu selection and a feel of Old Florida. A nice place for lunch or dinner.

  • Christy K.

Great happy hour specials for drinks. Service was great and beer was cold. We went back later and had a shrimp pot and split it and it was super yummy! Shrimp was cooked just right and sausage and corn very good. Potatoes were a tad undercooked but still very good. Service again was very good.

    (5)
  • Van H.

Food was awesome. I had the shrimp pot. That was awesome. My wife had the catfish she said it was delicious. The calamari wasn't bad. I've had better but I can't complain. The peanut butter pie was good. the brownie sundae was awesome. They were a little short-staffed. But we had a good experience

  • Matt M.

What a difference a day makes. First off, this is an old Florida Cracker type joint. Know what you are getting before you get there.....alligators on the wall, and shrimp nets around. When I had lunch there earlier this week, I had a very good experience, however we went back again this week with a party of nine it was awful. Service was slow and food was barely edible. I have to retract my earlier review because the test of a good restaurant (or the test of a marriage, a business, a law firm, etc.) is how they perform when they are busy. Service, food, presentation, and everything else was just not good.

Really loved the atmosphere. I had the ultimate steampot and was incredibly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. There was a slight zing to every bite, but it wasn't overwhelming. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted incredible! I can't wait to go back down to Palm Coast so I can have another YUM

Past the town of Palm Coast via the inter coastal bridge and you'll enter little ol' Hammock. Many Palm Coast locals don't often venture this way because of the toll coming into this area, but for JT's it's worth it*. For probably the only restaurant within ten miles on A1A, JT's sure does hold it's own. With fresh, local fish and unique specials compliments of their friendly and talented chefs, JT's serves up delectable seafood while still offering the traditional beach house treats like (huge) burgers with hush puppies, coleslaw, and fries. Don't forget to ask to try some of their homemade aioli while you're sampling their homemade hot sauce already on your table. When I was living in Palm Coast, I still ate fish so I often tried blackened (insert fish of the day here) and could never not get a dessert. Their homemade key-lime pie and peanut butter pie are enough to make you stop in just for a snack! So pleased that for those living in the Hammock or visiting the golf course resort, they have the opportunity and enjoyment to dine here instead of driving for miles in search of an OK beach house serving up old shrimp. *Side note: you can take A1A from the north (St. Augustine) or south (Daytona Beach) and avoid the toll. Also, JT's used to offer paying the toll if you showed your receipt. I'd call to confirm.

A group of friends and I ate at this restaurant and I found the food was nothing exceptional. It was okay, overpriced, nothing special. For what my kids ordered we could've easily got that somewhere else for much reasonable price and probably taste way better. The kids got fried shrimp but you can't really messed up on but it still wasn't good and I had shrimp and grits which was nothing special either and my friend Had crab patty and it just had too much dill or fennel or whatever but is just was lacking a well-rounded flavor. Our waitress was really nice.

Zero stars would be better. My family was visiting from out of state. my fiancé and i drive by all the time and wanted to try this place. We walked in at 8pm on a Tuesday. No one was at the front. We noted the the bartender looked our way a few times. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. After standing there for about 10 minutes, feeling pretty stupid, we left. We will never be back. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area where they actually want paying customers.

I've been here a few times while on vacation and I have to say this is by far one of my favorite places. I wish I could come here more often but the drive from Chicago is kinda far :/ I don't normally like sea food, but here I'll make an exception. The fried catfish fries are sooo good and so are the crab cakes. Definitely try the baby back ribs!! I get them every single time I come here because they are honestly one of the best that I've ever tried. There's a great great atmosphere and waiters are always super friendly. It gets pretty busy during dinner hours, so I'd recommend going maybe a little bit earlier. Overall, great place, great food, definitely try it out :)

There is often a wait, and the parking is limited, but the atmosphere and food are worth it. The fish tacos are delicious!

Wow well the good thing about this place and the reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is the service was good. The food though is another story. My bf and I passes by and thought we'd try it. We ordered crawfish as an appetizer and omg it was TERRIBLE! The server put the plate down and we were both hit with an awful smell. Like incredibly dirty water or something. The smell made me sick to my stomach. The taste was just as bad, just bad, rancid, dirty water fish. The server was kind enough to take it off the bill, though. Our entrees, we split a fried oyster sandwich and grilled mahi dinner. Well the fried oysters were mediocre. Probably should just stick with fried food at a place like this, honestly. We had rice and beans for a side but the rice was overlooked. The mahi... Yuck. Just bad, bad, bad. Way overcooked and the sauce on top tasted old or something. The lesson learned... Order fried food if u end up stopping here, but if you're not famished and you can stand to wait; find someplace else.

Visited this restaurant with my Mom on one of our frequent trips to Flagler Beach, FL. Made a quick lunch stop on the way back from St. Augustine and was pleasantly surprised! Kind of a smaller place, but the atmosphere was good, service was good, and so was the food. I ordered the Southwestern Chicken, and it was fabulous! The salad I had before the meal was the best salad I had during our brief trip. My Mom had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, which I think may have been the special of the day. When she ordered it, she did not know that buffalo sauce was spicy. When she started eating it though, she found that she liked it - a lot! I had a bite too, and it was very tasty. Great stop - we will be here again!

It's not for everyone but good food and a mix of locals and tourists. Been there a bunch of times and never had a bad seafood meal. Atmosphere is road died but that's not all bad. I'm going back

Yes. It is a hole in the wall shack. The crab pot gets 4 stars. I needed more corn and potatoes. It isn't spicy. It is just season perfectly. The fish tacos were interesting. The fish was chopped and it looked like they were potatoes. Hubby didn't really like it. The margaritas were ok. However, I'm going to stick to beer. We would go back for the crab pot.

We loved the place!! We got gator bites as an appetizer and they were delicious!!! We sat outside near where the band was playing and it was a very good atmosphere. We had a party of 10 and all of our food came out quick and at the same time. The Mahi tacos and Mahi sandwich were great!! Some of the best Mahi we have ever had!!! The service was great and quick.

Stopped in and checked this place out with my friends during a weekend in the Palm Coast. It was exactly what you imagine a place called "J.T.'s Seafood Shack" to look like. Young and energetic staff, fresh (and tasty) food, wooden tables, full bar. I had the soft-shell crab sandwich, which was very yummy, but I think I liked the french fries more! The others in my group had the Corvina and after one taste, it was delish! I was actually jealous I didn't order that instead. Definitely a good place for some grub after a day in the sun.

Nice little hole in the wall on the A1A outside Hammock. If you didn't know about it, you would drive right pass it. Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside is nicer than expected. Played it safe and got the fried shrimp. It was pre-frozen and a little under cooked. Had to send back for a different batch. Lots to choose from on the menu though. Service was good as well. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.

Stumbled on this place our first night in town - wanted something really easy that the kids would like and that would be relaxing...JT's fits the bill! Basically a glorified fish shack with picnic tables, a stage and a bar outside. Great atmosphere, eclectic lights, random fishing art and a good southern rock cover band jamming out, complete with a hula-hoop mosh pit area for the kids. Pure genius. Food-wise no complaints - the gator bites are tasty, the onion rings are beer battered, and the crab cakes are fairly generous and well seasoned. I had the blackened grouper sandwich and it was good, not out of this world but perfect with the $2 Yuenglings. Kid food-wise, the servings are generous but pricey. Great place that will be fond memory for all of us.

Cool spot. Ate steamed clams and a steak. Go for it. Not too much in the nearby area... so, I was happy

We went on Monday night; they were doing a good business; waited about 5 minutes. Atmosphere is old Florida seafood shack, just as described. Food was excellent. I ordered the A1A salad with blackened grouper, others had shrimp/grits, fish sandwich and fish tacos. Everyone was very happy with their meals, our service was fast, food arrived in a very reasonable time. Total bill for all 4 was $60, about what we would have expected. We will be back.

Used to be good several years ago and then they had a change of ownership. The seafood is not local. Nastiest dish has to be the rice pilaf side. Loud bar spills into the dining area. Long wait for food in tourist season. Dirt lot, be careful pulling out on to A1A. Not a whole lot to like here and good luck on finding local seafood in Palm Coast, there isn't any. The nearest source of real local seafood is either your own two hands and a rod&reel, a net or a trap. Alternatively, you can take the ride up to Seafood Shoppe in St Augustine, buy it retail, take it home and cook it. No one here does local seafood. Just check out what is in the JT's seafood pot or whatever they call it entree. It ain't from these parts. You can see shrimp boats just off shore of Palm Coast but the local restaurants either serve imported shrimp or gulf shrimp.

My entire family and I were ridiculously disappointed. Their food even made us sick.

Very disappointed. Hostess was the rudest person I have ever met. Called for reservations but said they didn't take them. Had a group of 12 (the same number that was in our party) walk in 20 minutes after us and they were seated right away. When the hostess was questioned she told us that "they called"...I told her that so had we but were told they didn't take reservations and she just laughed. We were there to celebrate a 50th Anniversary and the hostess single-handedly ruined our evening. Food was pretty hit and miss. I wouldn't recommend this place EVER!

I don't get it. This place is SO over rated. I have eaten there twice (the in-laws like it) and was disappointed each time. I had the Florida crab cakes and there were not eatable. Now I think it was prepared fine, just didn't taste good. the second visit I had the fish tacos and they were good but over priced. For lesser money you can go to Flagler Fish Company and get the best seafood tacos in the area. and actually the in-laws were disappointed with their last visit. just seem like the food was double deep fried everything. Now let me tell you why I think this place is popular, it is a fun place to eat. there is inside and outside dining often there is a live band and the area is very Old Florida. I guess you have to try Jt if you are visiting but don't forget to try Flagler fish company you will love it. Also if you wanted a nicer setting and price is not an issue ($23 entrees) the Atlantic Grill is a place you would want to visit.

I was so disappointed eating here. We passed by this restaurant several times on the A1A and it was always crowded so my husband and I finally decided to check it out. Well, it was so not worth the money. We basically spent $50 for Long Johns Silver type food, except Long Johns Silver only costs like $5. I ordered the crab cakes, which the waitress HIGHLY recommended, and I couldn't even finish half of one. I never throw away food, but I had to make an exception. I actually ended up NOT finishing my dinner, which I felt so guilty. But the food was just so terrible. It tasted like TV dinner to be quite honest. I would NOT recommend coming here...I would drive up the A1A and head north and eat at South Beach Grill. We had delicious fish tacos there and our bill was half of what we spent at JT's.

Have been coming a few years now. If you are vacationing in The Hammock this place has everything you need without having to venture into Palm Coast, which has a dismal restaurant scene for a town it's size. For Florida standards the prices aren't great, but coming from Boston it's nothing outrageous. Great selection of draft beers, mixed drinks and solid happy hour two-for-one deals. The food is nothing to get too excited about but the "inedible" reviews are really exaggerated. Good place to eat and drink. Good atmosphere. I have always liked it and always go back.

I have been going to JT's for a while now. The food here has been ok but never had anything I needed to go back for. The atmosphere is ok if you are looking to just go and drink here. The service at our most recent visit was quite disappointing. I think the bar tender was our server. Needless to say he quite busy. It would have been a much better experience if they were more organazied and attentive to the customer.

Decent food, but do NOT use your charge card here. We used our card after visiting. The ONLY time we used our card visiting that area. The next day several charges were poping up from Orlando. PAY WITH CASH!!!

Driving by this little hole-in-the-wall and took a chance and had an excellent lunch. I ordered blackened Mahi Mahi on top of a Caesar Salad and my friend had a blackened crab cake sandwich. We also had a couple of FL beers (LAND SHARK) and sat out on their enclosed patio. This is an old-school type of place, but there were all sorts of people in there on the Saturday afternoon that we stopped by. Families, singles, couples, friends, older folks - you name it! It reminded me of an old fish camp type of place or something you would see on the docks in a fishing marina.

I've been here twice in the past four days....yes it's close to where we are staying but also worth the double trip. The first night I shared a shrimp pot with my sister-in-law. Potatoes, shrimp in a "hammock" -- that's a netting for those not in the know, and corn. All tasty -- solid food, a 2.5 stars. Last night we went back and I got the blackened wahoo on the advice of our waitress. Outstanding. A good kick to it and when was the last time you were even able to order wahoo (excluding those who frequent the Wahoo's Taco franchises on the Left Coast). Rice Pilaf was fluffy and full (no I am not a foodie snob, it actually was). The fresh string beans were an additional plus. Our waitress was friendly and funny -- a good combo in a bad restaurant, great combo in a good one. Rumor has it we are headed back there again tonight....my nephew is back from appendix surgery in Mexico and has heard about the Shack....I guess as Ahnold would say, "I'll be back!"

My husband and I stopped at JT's while staying in Flagler for our honeymoon. Our waitress was Erin and she was awesome. We were not familar with the menu-since this was our first time there. She explained the menu- pointed out specials and informed us it was happy hour. I ended up getting a Shirmp and Scallop pasta dinner ( I can't remember exactly what the name of it was)-something Erin suggested. I was going to order another drink when she told me about the hooch-tini... I am not too keen on martini's but figured I should give it a try. Let me tell ya, fabulous. I am not in the area much- but when I am I will have to stop in.

We went here two times during our trip. First night got the seafood pot, which was good but not great. Second night got the shrimp and grits, which was excellent. Wife got the combo platter, which was average. Good live music both nights. And the beers were cheap and cold!

Went with my lovely bride after reading the reviews on YELP. We are not folks who are hard to please. Our waitress was very friendly and responsive. My wife chose the Shrimp and Scallops, and I had the Steam Pot with Crablegs, Shrimp. Mine was barely warm when it arrived but was otherwise flavorful with healthy portions. Our main complaint is my wife's Shrimp and Scallops were the previously frozen "Gortons Fisherman" type. We live in a Coastal Town and are not seafood snobs but expect more for the $55 bill.

Our party of 11, from age 12 to 91, went to JT's to enjoy a dinner out together and had a very nice time. They pushed a few tables together and seated us near the bar, which caused wait staff and customers to skinny by. But otherwise, it was a good time, the waitress was on the ball, and the food was good. My husband and I ordered calamari to start, which was very good, and then I had gator tail and he had the fish tacos and both of those items were tasty. I would definitely recommend the fish tacos. I know others had the steamed shrimp, grilled fish, steak, and soup and they all said the food was good. Also, if you are a cole slaw fan, know they have really good cole slaw, which I got a side of. As for beverages, they offer unsweet and sweet tea, as well as beer, wine, and VO, so I would say they have a rather well stocked bar. It is very casual and the outdoor music began to play as we were leaving, which was about 6:00pm or so. It began to become busier than too. The bathroom was a one holer and very clean. All in all, the experience was a good one.

Don't bother. This place charges a lot and you get lousy frozen "fresh" food. Fried shrimp lousy, cole slaw lousy. French fries were good. Waitress lousy, she was more interested in everything else, but service. Can't understand why this place was filled; guess the people never had fresh food before.
